The EOS 1D Mark II N is a digital AF high-performance SLR with a large, high precision 8.20 megapixel CMOS sensor. It is compatible with all Canon EF lenses (with the exception of EF-S lenses) and is suitable for spontaneous snapshots. In addition to high-precision autofocus, the camera has numerous functions for all types of photography, from fully automatic snapshots to professional artistic shots. Read this manual carefully to familiarize yourself with the functions and proper use of the camera. Before you use the camera for the first time, take a few test shots and check whether the images are recorded correctly on the memory card. If the camera/memory card is defective and images can not be recorded or read by a PC, Canon is not liable for any loss or inconvenience.
The copyright laws of some countries may prohibit the use of recordings of persons or certain objects for purposes other than private. Also, make sure that taking photographs at some public performances or exhibitions may also be prohibited. Verify that the following items are included with your camera. Otherwise, contact your dealer. The included accessories can also be checked in the system overview (page 184). Follow these safety instructions and use the equipment properly to prevent injury, death or material damage. Heat, leakage of chemicals and explosions: Use only batteries, power sources, or accessories specified in this manual. Do not use batteries that are either private or manufactured. Do not short circuit or disassemble batteries or accumulators, or modify them in any other way. Do not expose the battery or storage battery to heat, and do not try to solder it. Do not allow fire or water to enter the battery or the storage battery. Do not expose the battery or the memory battery to hard shocks.Do not insert the battery or the memory battery in reverse polarity (+ -). Do not mix new and old batteries or different battery types. Charge the battery only within the permissible ambient temperature range from 0 ° C to 40 ° C. Also, do not exceed the charging time. Do not insert metal foreign objects into the electrical contacts of the camera, accessories, connecting cables, etc.
Keep the storage battery out of the reach of children. Consult a doctor immediately if a child swallows the battery. (The battery chemicals can damage the stomach and intestines.). Before disposing of the battery or the storage battery, glue the electrical contacts with an adhesive tape or other insulation material to avoid direct contact with other metal objects. In this way, a fire or an explosion is suggested. If excessive heat, smoke or smoke occurs while the battery is charging, immediately unplug the battery charger from the wall outlet to stop charging and to prevent a fire. If the battery or accumulator battery runs out, the color changes deform, or smoke or smoke emanates from the battery, remove it immediately. Be careful not to burn yourself. Avoid contact with the leaked battery fluid with eyes, skin, and clothing. Contact may cause blindness or skin irritation. If the exposed battery fluid comes into contact with the eyes, skin or clothing, rinse the affected area immediately with water without rubbing. Seek immediate medical attention.
Keep the equipment out of the reach of children when charging. The cable may pinch air to the child or cause electric shock to the child. Do not store the cables near a heat source. This may deform the cable or melt the insulation, which may result in a fire or electric shock. Do not record flashes of people while driving. This can cause an accident. Do not record flashes when you are near a person's eyes. As a result, the person's vision can be impaired. Keep a distance of at least one meter from the flash of children. Before storing the camera or accessories in a safe place when not in use, remove the battery and pull the power cord. This prevents electric shocks, heat generation, and fires. Do not use the equipment near flammable gas. In this way fires and explosions are prefixed.
