Unplug your Dyson vacuum from the wall outlet. Press down on the handle release above the front right wheel. Lower the handle to the ground.

Turn your Dyson vacuum over to access the brush bar and belt. Look for the three round discs on the bottom of the vacuum behind the brush bar. Insert a quarter into the slots on the disc. Turn the discs counterclockwise to release the brush roll guard.

Lift the back of the brush roll guard, and rotate it toward the front of the vacuum. Lift the guard off the bottom of the vacuum.

Grab the brush roll at both ends. Lift the brush roll from the body of the vacuum. Slide the brush roll from the current belt.

Pull the current belt from the motor shaft near the rear of the vacuum. Insert the replacement brush roll belt over the shaft.

Insert the brush roller into the new belt. Make sure the belt lines up with the slot in the brush roller.

Rotate the brush roller’s U-shaped end caps so the U-shape faces the body of the vacuum. Slide the end caps into the slots on each side of the vacuum.

Line up brush roll guard tabs with the slots in the bottom front of the vacuum. Lower the guard until it rest against the vacuum. Use the quarter to rotate the discs on the guard clockwise to lock it in place. Return your Dyson vacuum to the upright position.
