The other day, I was enjoying some Call of Duty: World War 2 online, with my trusty AT&T modem carrying my virtual bullets to unfortunate victims. I guess that game’s alternate title is Call of Duty 50 or something.
Me and my Ally friends made it to the enemy bunker only to see that it was full of black women in Waffen uniforms. This is very much historically inaccurate, I thought to myself, so there must be a problem with my connection and the characters haven’t loaded yet. But how? The Netgear router I have might as well be a bunker of its own considering how sturdy it is.
Still, I went to check the wiring and what not, and lo and behold, there was nothing wrong with my Netgear DSL Gateway Model 7550. Of course, by the time I came back, the enemy players already had their way with my corpse, but it was worth it for a lesson never to doubt my modem again.
